“We had an amazing season and we told stories that were unique to any other in the franchise,” Andy Cohen,

Bravo’s executive vice president said. “I wish all our DC Wives the best and hope to work with them again in another capacity.” Although D.C. is the city of power, its Housewives series was apparently the weakest link for Bravo — no other series in the mega hit franchise has had such a short T.V. shelf life. When a deadly silence ensued after the D.C. first season ended last October, shut-down rumors started to swirl.

Cat Ommanney told The Post the quietness “has made people think there won’t be one, but I’m quite confident that there will be a second season.” But the D.C. first season pulled in the most viewers after New Jersey! So why did Bravo pull the plug?

Apparently the D.C. girls’ high-class etiquette caused them their early T.V. retirement. “It’s less noisy,” Cohen said. “It’s serious, it’s politics. The level of discourse on this show is different. For people who expect to see table flipping or wig pulling, that was never going to happen on this show.” And we all know, without table flipping and mid-day boozing and flirting with friend’s sons, a Housewives series can’t stand the test of time.
